The first of our progress reports for the Long Day Care Professional Development Programme has been submitted for all centres.  This funding has been utilised for educators to develop and increase their knowledge and skills in early childhood education and care.

* Some of the inservices, webinars, networking meetings and conferences that educators  have attended include:-

  – National Quality Standards: Documentation Conference – Reshaping Documentation.

  – Team building and Communication.

  – Learning with children with Additional Needs: True Inclusion and Quality Teaching.

  – Telling the Story of Children.

* We have also purchased laptops for each Learning Room to enable educators to participate in webinars and for skyping inservices.

*  The funding has been used to upgrade Diploma trained staff to a Bachelor of Teaching qualification, as well as upgrading Certificate III qualifications to a Diploma of Children’s Services.

*  As well as the purchase of Textbooks, e-books, and the subscriptions to professional newsletters and magazines.
